Synthetic Cable Solutions for Fabric Architecture |
|
Ronstan Architectural Rigging Systems, an internationally recognized leader in the design and manufacture of tensile cable and rod members for the fabric architecture community, announces the arrival of their latest tension solution. Ronstan's Synthetic Cable Solutions by Applied-Fiber. Ronstan has partnered with Applied-Fiber of Havana, Fl to offer the next tensile solution for fabric architectural design.
Ronstan's Synthetic Solutions employs Applied Fiber's design expertise utilizing the fibrous Aramid material to offer structural tendons with stretch and strength characteristics comparable to that of traditional steel cable, but with weight savings up to 80%. This represents a significant departure from the traditional cabling system. With end fittings designed to meet the demands of the fabric architecture market, Ronstan's synthetic tendons will provide the designer the same structural integrity and corrosion resistance of stainless steel, with improved fatigue reistance while reducing installation time, and logistical costs.
"This innovative cable system provides the fabric architecture design community significantly greater flexibility in their designs," notes from Ronstan's Vice President of Architectural applications, Peter Katcha. "The ability to reduce the weight of the structural tendons in fabric architecture should also reduce the project installation time and labor cost."
